Beth McLean – Director

Beth is a certified teacher in North Carolina with ten years of experience teaching in elementary classrooms. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC Wilmington in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree with an emphasis in literacy from UNC-Chapel Hill. After leaving the classroom, she worked for five years as a national consultant for an educational company. Beth has been working at SJCpreschool since 2005.
Joanna Henderson – 1 and 2 year old Teacher
Furman University, B.A. Sociology and Political Science; University of Georgia, M.Ed.
Joanna Henderson has lived in Wilmington for 13 years with her husband and 3 busy kids. She received her Bachelors from Furman University and her Masters in Education from the University of Georgia. She is an active volunteer in her kids' schools and loves yoga. She has been been a substitute teacher at the preschool since 2016 and joined SJCpreschool as a teacher in 2019.

Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama. She taught preschool in the 3 year old class at Sharon United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC for 10 years before working as an assistant teacher for 13 years with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. Mary and her husband moved to Wilmington to be closer to their daughter and her family. She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Mary has been working at SJCpreschool since 2019.

Angela received her Effective Teacher Training Certification from Cape Fear Community College and has been an avid substitute teacher and volunteer in New Hanover County Schools. While a student of Anthropology at UNC- Wilmington, she traveled to Belize for a month-long dig of the Mayan Ruins and discovered an artifact from the 17th century. Angela has been working at SJCpreschool since 2015.
